PursueVT is the effort to connect young professionals with the information, resources, and opportunities that will help them with their decision to live and work in Vermont – including job openings, housing options, higher education and training, and recreational and community events.

Unlike many cities, regions, and states, Vermont does not have to convince young people that it is a desirable place to live. Among those who have existing relationships and experiences with the state, the desire to come home is already strong. PursueVT efforts are therefore targeted to those young people who show the greatest likelihood to return to Vermont.

The program aims to create and maintain relationships with prospective ‘Vermonters’ using targeted communications, events, and networking opportunities all centered on living and working in Vermont.

Specific efforts include:

  • PursueVT.com – a website for young professionals seeking information on living and working in VT.
  • E-newsletter – includes timely and actionable information on activities, unique PursueVT events, job openings, housing opportunities, and new higher education programs.
  • PursueVT Events – employment networking events in regions where high concentrations of alumni currently live allowing Vermont businesses to directly network with area jobseekers.

Other efforts include sponsorships of relevant events in and out-of-state, partnerships with the higher education and business sectors, and support for young professional groups.
