The Vermont Economic Progress Council (VEPC), is an independent board of nine Vermont citizens appointed by the governor. In addition to the nine members appointed by the Governor, there are two voting members from the General Assembly and two regional representatives from each region, one designated by the regional development corporation and one by the regional planning commission. The regional representatives are non-voting members. The council is staffed by an executive director and an administrative assistant. The VEPC is attached to the Vermont Department of Economic Development for administrative support.
The Council serves as an approval and authorization body for the Vermont Employment Growth Incentive program and the Tax Increment Financing district program.
