From agriculture to manufacturing, Vermont businesses need easy and reliable access to their markets. Even with the rural nature of our state, businesses have transportation options throughout Vermont to ensure consistent access to markets either locally or internationally.

Roads and Highways

Major interstate highways, state, county and secondary roads are consistently maintained and provide truck access to all population centers – whether shipping in or out. Vermont’s two major interstate highways run from the southeast to northwest spine of the state with a north to south interstate along Vermont's east coast from Massachusetts to Canada.

Rail Service

Vermont currently has eleven rail lines linking every corner of the state with the rest of the country and Canada. Our increasing reliance on rail transport as a cost effective means of moving goods into and out of the state––as well as through-transiting––is proving attractive to many businesses in many industries.

Airports

Led by Burlington International which serves close to a million passengers yearly, Vermont is served by a number of well-positioned state, municipal and private airport facilities. From large jetliners to private and corporate aircraft, Vermont is less than an hour from major hub cities like New York, Boston and Montreal.
